Join us again for an evening of remembrance and festivities!Sunday 11/1, 5:00-7:00 PM November 1 is traditionally celebrated as All Saints' Day (All Hallows' Day) in the Christian calendar, followed by All Souls' Day on November 2. These observances fall within a season of remembrance that also includes older traditions such as Samhain and Mexico's Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Once again, we will observe this season to honor our ancestors, our dearly departed, and all those who have passed with prayers and offerings for the deceased grounded in the Buddhist tradition. We will also be hosting a “night market” at Urban Dharma to feature the festive nature of remembering the past as we prepare for the future. The “night market” will feature craft vendors, performers (music, fortune-telling, face & henna painting, etc.) and food sellers from our community. This event is open to all. We hope to see you there! Ancestor ShrineBring photos of your loved ones who have passed on for the ancestor shrine. Offerings of flowers and food are traditional. |
