This Weekend: Freedom From FearsJust a reminder that there are still in-person and online tickets available for this upcoming weekend’s “Freedom From Fears: Principles & Practices of Lady Tara” retreat with Dorjé Lopön Dr. Lye. Dr. Lye invites you to a special retreat on Lady Tārā—a buddha who vowed to always appear in a female form to protect beings from any and all fears. Dr. Lye will help us consider this paradox of fear and offer traditional vajrayāna resources on working with fear through the principle and practice of Tārā. Register here! Recent Events with the Drikung Dharmakirti International SanghaThis past weekend, Dr. Lye offered a special retreat to the Drikung Dharmakirti International Sangha. A number of folks flew in and will also stay to attend the upcoming "Freedom From Fears" program this weekend. Check out the photos below, or visit the DDIS post here for more. On Monday, Dr. Lye and DDIS members of the went to the Forest Hermitage Land to hang prayer flags, make smoke cleansing offering, and walk some of the land. As we are approaching the Tibetan New Year, this is considered an especially good time to engage in special interdependences such as these. More photos here! Tomorrow is Buddha Day Please join us tomorrow for Buddha Day—a celebration of the birth, life, and death of the Buddha. This joint event between Urban Dharma NC, Great Tree Zen Women's Temple, and the Zen Center of Asheville will happen this Saturday, May 10th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Urban Dharma's temple in West Asheville.
